Paulo Merson has over 18 years of software development experience. He currently works at the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) with software architecture, SOA, aspect-oriented software development, and component-based development. One of his assignments at the SEI is to teach a two-day course in "Documenting Software Architectures" for industry and government practitioners. His recent speaking experience includes tutorials at Dr. Dobb’s Architecture & Design World, JavaOne, SEI SATURN, WDBC, SBES and SBCARS, lectures to graduate students in different universities on topics such as J2EE, AOP, UML 2.0, ATAM, and invited talks at different companies. Prior to joining the SEI, he was a J2EE consultant and worked in the implementation of several enterprise applications. Paulo holds a Bs in Computer Science from University of Brasilia, and a Master of Software Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
