Welcome to the 3rd Workshop for
Introducing Reuse in Enterprises (WIRE). The right place to discuss the
state of the practice and exchange experiences with the most important
reuse experts from Brazil and the world.
Currently, companies have an increasing demand for higher productivity
in their development teams, together with improvements in the quality
of their applications and costs reduction, creating an ever growing
need for competence in the development cycle. Thus, reuse can be a
systematic way to achieve these goals while developing software, and
WIRE 2008 will try to explore these aspects in an objective way,
aligning them with the industry expectations.WIRE 2008 will be a
workshop about the practical aspects related to software reuse in
industrial projects. State-of-the-art aspects, with reflects on
practical experiences involving practical, managerial and
organizational issues, are expected, stimulating experience exchange,
opinions and, mainly, debates. Reuse, in the context of the workshop,
encompasses the areas related to reuse processes based on mass
production techniques aiming to increase productivity, such as software
product lines. The aspects related to problems/challenges for the
introduction of reuse in companies are also included.
WIRE is an event of divulging, discussion and formation. It is a
pioneer event in Brazil, about reuse and the related aspects, and it is
gaining new adepts every year, due to the success of the previous
years, with potential to produce deep changes in the current
and future software engineering practices in companies.
Besides all technological characteristics that surround the workshop,
the event will be held in Recife, a city blessed by a beautiful
sunshine, gorgeous beaches, culinary delicacies (crab, shrimp, goat)
and the human warmth of the people from Pernambuco state. It will be a
pleasure to have you at WIRE 2008.
